CHAPTER 1
This book is about writing sentences. A sentence can be defined in various ways; different people define it in different ways. In the written form, the simplest way to define a sentence is to say that it is a stretch of words started with a capital letter and ended with a period. This is not a very good definition. Basically, however, a sentence is a predication, which is the relation formed by a subject and a predicate. In other words, in a sentence there must be a subject and a predicate. Thus, there is no sentence without a subject or a predicate.
