Menurut saya, kriteria penilaian yang sangat rinci bisa membantu sekaligus membatasi kreativitas siswa. Rubrik membantu siswa memahami apa yang diharapkan sehingga tugas menjadi lebih terarah, tetapi jika terlalu detail, siswa sering lebih fokus mengejar poin daripada memahami materi secara mendalam. Misalnya, dalam tugas presentasi tentang perubahan iklim, seorang siswa awalnya ingin membuat presentasi kreatif dengan wawancara dan contoh lokal, tetapi setelah membaca rubrik, ia lebih fokus memenuhi syarat jumlah sumber dan penjelasan teori karena bagian itu memiliki nilai terbesar. Akibatnya, tugasnya mendapat nilai bagus, tetapi kreativitas dan eksplorasi idenya menjadi berkurang.
