You will have to imagine this:

You are accepted in a not-so-popular university with fully funded scholarship, at the major you've aimed for years. You have observed that the campus and you learned that the department where you are involved in is newly emerged, as you will be the second batch; means you'll have only a batch of senior upon you.

Surprisingly, on the next day, you receive an announcement, telling your admission to one of the most reputable university has been granted, and you will be enrolled in the major which is considered the best in that university, and even among other universities. However, your inner call is not into that major. You chose it just for testing your capability and didn't even aim to succeed it. Your parents encourage you to take the second option and they say they will pay the tuition no matter how costly it will be.

Your reaction?

I will choose the second option, because even though I'm just trying to enroll in that university, but I'm definitely thinking about the major to take. Apart from the support of my parents, at the best universities I can get great and broad relationships, I will be able to exchange experiences with my classmates, or ask seniors about their experiences so far. Although this major is not a major that I have wanted for a long time, I am sure that with a good university reputation I will be able to develop my mindset for the better and will definitely learn a lot from extraordinary lecturers.

If my parents are coming from upper class i will choose the second option because i realized that when you graduate from prestigious university it's easier to get a job. I heard that some company prefer to choose someone mediocre from top university rather than the best graduate from unknown university. Additionaly, even if it's not my dream major it's still alright because the demand is high and i'm capable to learn about it. For me, sometimes passion should stay as hobby and i have to be realistic.

I chose the second option because for me learning something new is more challenging. Sharpening passion is important, but for me passion can be made by ourselves. Cristiano Ronaldo once said "TALENT WITHOUT WORK IS NOTHING". I depend not always on the passion I have. Moreover, the case given by Mr. Fajar here, parents support the scholarship, and even if it is expensive, I believe all campuses provide scholarships continuously. one more thing, if i choose the first option, it will only affect my life for 4 years. but if i choose option 2 it will affect my life as long as i live.

If the condition is that my parents can afford to pay for college, I will choose a university that is more accredited to support my abilities. because in my opinion it is useless if we have the ability in a field or department but are not supported by the best facilities and educators. then our ability will stop there and be less developed, likened to if we find a diamond but it is not processed by professionals it will be a low quality diamond on the contrary if it is processed by professionals with the right technique then the diamond will be much more valuable.
then if we come from a well-known university then people will see us as more qualified than from an unknown university, and it is easier to find work and relation

for me i will choose the second option. Because first, the university is popular, the major also one of the best in that university, my parents are happy about it, and they pay all the tuition cost. the first option isn't bad though. I just choose the one that my parents support more.

however, i will choose a major that i like, which i have been dreaming of for a long time, i have been figuring out how to get it, which i am interested in. whatever if people think that my hobbies, my interests are weird. they have nothing to do with it. just mind your business. I know my way! (wow, this post is quite bold). I realized that I was the type of person who did something because I was intk it. when I'm interested to something, I can endure sitting for hours at my desk just to satisfy my interest. and I will be more proud of myself if I can be successful by following my own path. ( Shouldn't it be so? because we already dive into it a little, already have a strong foundation, and a grip that keep us motivated--interest ). So I think,it's a big NO, if I had to choose a major that I don't know what I can do with that. and, when it comes to the world of work, people say that they would prefer to choose a graduates from a great university. I agree, so that I can't possibly choose a university with low accreditation. its just, it's not in the top 10 popular universities ( may be I'm the boss, so i don't have to worried about that...hh ) I'm not just put my opinion here, because this situation really happened in my life. I still listen to their every opinion, however still choosinh where my true passion is. Unfortunately, my story is a little different, so yeah, maybe another time I can tell bout thag. thank you for reading it up to here~
