Economic Development Introductory is a compulsory course for Development Economics majors/programmes. This course has three objectives. The first objective is to provide a critical overview of recent literature and important debates in economic development. To achieve this goal, the structure of the lecture material will be divided into two sessions at each face-to-face / meeting. The first session is the delivery of material based on the sequence/structure of the material. The second session is a critical review of the topics presented by the short summary method or class discussion. The second objective is to introduce ways of overcoming methodological problems that arise when conducting research on development economics. The third objective is to prepare students to be able to conduct current research within the scope of development economics and identify possible research topics or for writing scientific papers.
